Imagine just coming home from the hospital and you are exhausted from the hours of labor and swaddling and taking care of your new treasure. Ed hasn’t left your side since the birth, being extra gentle, helpful, and loving. Touching you the same way he would, but just a little softer. He curled you up in bed making sure you were comfortable before slipping in behind you. You immediately knock out to sleep when his protective arm wraps around your waist. You’re in a dead slumber when your mommy senses jolt you awake. You notice your baby isn’t crying, and Ed’s warm arm isn’t cradling you anymore. Turning over slowly, you see he’s not there. You still to hear any sort of sound, but you hear nothing. Getting out of bed, you wrap yourself in your night gown and open your door slowly, not to wake the baby. Strolling down to your living room, you stop on the stairs to see ed lightly bouncing on his toes and walking in circles in the living room, half humming, half whisper singing. He’s got nothing on but his extremely baggy sweats that are hanging low on his hips, a pair of socks, his hair stuck to one side of his head from the way he was sleeping. He’s gently cradling your baby in his arms, feeding her the bottle you prepared earlier. She is silent, her eyes half open, shifted and mesmerized by her daddy’s noises.
